Victim's Family Asks Police to Reveal Deadly "Septic Tank" Case in Cirebon

The other victims were Tri Yunanto (40), Tohidin Andryana (35), and Fadli (32). Tri and Masduki are residents of Harjamukti District, Cirebon City. Tohidin and Fadli are from Plumbon and Kapetakan Districts, Cirebon Regency, respectively. They are listed as technicians at CSB Mall.

Suprapto has requested that the police thoroughly investigate the case. During the incident, Masduki was actually on a break and fixing the air conditioning and ironing tools in his house. However, he said that the victim was asked to come to the CSB immediately because an incident had occurred.

"What happened? I ask. He said, my friend entered a septic tank, was electrocuted and died there. I asked, 'have you reported it to the police yet? "It should be reported," said Suprapto, imitating his conversation with the victim. He regretted the incident.

Suprapto also hopes that the management of CSB Mall will assist the families of the victims, especially in economic matters. Until now, the heirs of the victims have received compensation money, he said. "But the deceased had many obligations, such as parents, in-laws, wife, and children," he said.

According to him, the victim has three children who are still attending elementary school. Masduki's wife works as a kindergarten teacher in Cirebon. He hopes that CSB Mall management can help the victim's children's future, especially regarding education.

Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit Cirebon City Police Adjunct Commissioner Anggi Eko Prasetyo is still investigating the case of the deaths of four people in the septic tank at CSB Mall. When asked about plans to process the crime scene, Anggi said he would provide further information about this.

From initial information, it is said that the incident is suspected to have occurred at 11.00 AM. The authorities only received the report around 2.00 PM. When the police and officers of the Cirebon City Fire and Rescue Service arrived at the scene, the four victims had already been found lifeless.

Regarding indications of work accidents or negligence in operating procedures, they cannot confirm anything yet. "We are still investigating, witnesses are being examined, and data is still being collected. We are also waiting for the results of medical examinations related to this matter," they said.

The authorities have examined more than five witnesses, including CSB Mall management and officers who evacuated the victims. "Of course, related parties, whoever they are, based on the information we obtain, we will invite for clarification. We are still investigating everything," said Anggi.

Previously, CSB Mall Manager Adwin Nugroho stated that they are conducting an internal investigation regarding the case with the assistance of relevant authorities. They also provided assistance, support, and guidance to the victims' families.
